Stake It Trellis Stakes

How to Anchor a Trellis Without Digging (And Prevent Wood Rot)

Anchoring a garden trellis doesn't have to mean digging holes or dealing with rotting wooden posts. Stake It™ ABS plastic ground anchors drive into the ground without digging and won't rot, rust, or corrode — giving your trellis a secure, long-lasting foundation. Made in the USA.

The Problem with Traditional Trellis Anchoring

  • Wood posts rot: Wooden stakes in contact with soil absorb moisture and break down within a few seasons
  • Metal stakes rust: Steel and iron stakes corrode, leaving stains and weakening over time
  • Digging is disruptive: Digging holes disturbs roots, soil structure, and existing plantings
  • Concrete is permanent: Setting posts in concrete makes future adjustments difficult

How Stake It Solves the Problem

Stake It drives into the ground by hand or with a mallet — no digging required. The ABS plastic construction won't rot, rust, or corrode, giving your trellis a stable anchor that lasts season after season without maintenance.

Ready to anchor your trellis today? Stake It drives in by hand in under 15 minutes — no digging, no concrete, no rot. Made in the USA.

Measure Your Wood Post Before You Start

Stake It is designed to fit standard 1" x 2" lumber — the most common size used for garden trellises and plant support structures. Before cutting or purchasing your post material, confirm it fits within the sleeve:

  • Ideal fit: Standard 1" x 2" lumber (actual dimensions ~¾" x 1½")
  • Maximum post size: 1-3/8" wide x 1-5/8" deep
  • Stake It total length: 16" (10" drives into soil + 6" locking body holds your post above ground)

Posts larger than 1-3/8" x 1-5/8" will not seat properly in the sleeve. Standard 1x2 cedar or pressure-treated lumber from any home improvement store is the ideal choice — cut to your desired trellis post height before installation.

How to Anchor a Trellis with Stake It

  1. Position your trellis where you want it in the garden bed
  2. Drive Stake It anchors at the base of each trellis leg, angling slightly away from the trellis for better hold
  3. Insert your 1" x 2" post into the Stake It sleeve — the locking body grips it securely
  4. Check tension after the first rain and re-drive if neededStake It ground anchor engineering quality showing durable ABS plastic construction

Most gardeners use 4–6 Stake It anchors per trellis. Available in 2-packs, Made in the USA, ships free.
