Before you decorate, plan your connections. CPSC’s 2025 holiday guidance reminds families never to overload electrical outlets or string together more than three sets of incandescent lights. Follow your lighting and extension-cord manufacturers’ instructions.

CordSafe® helps keep temporary outdoor plug connections cleaner and drier around rain, snow, dirt and mulch. Weather-resistant, not waterproof. Not for direct burial or submersion, and it does not make an overloaded setup safe.

Included inserts fit 18, 16 and 14 AWG cords; remove inserts for many 12 AWG cords. The included plug insulator can help reduce moisture-related nuisance GFCI trips, but cannot prevent every trip or correct wiring faults or damaged equipment. Follow CordSafe installation instructions and replace damaged cords.
